Pathway to Brokerage Leadership

Completion of the 150-hour broker licensing program fulfills New Jersey’s educational requirement and positions you to take the next step toward broker licensure with confidence, clarity, and purpose.

The 150-hour New Jersey broker licensing program is comprised of three required courses, which may be taken in any order, provided eligibility requirements are met.

📋Determine Broker Eligibility

Broker candidates must be a licensed salesperson for 3 years before sitting for the New Jersey Broker Real Estate Exam.

Out of state Broker candidates should confirm if waivers apply before registering for a Broker course.

🗓️Create a Broker Course Plan

Remember, Broker candidates can register for the courses in any order, altogether or individually. We offer bundle and save discounts for 2 or more broker courses purchased at the same time.

🏢 30-Hour Office Management

Focuses on brokerage operations, supervision, risk management, and the systems required to run a compliant and sustainable real estate office.

⚖️ 30-Hour Ethics & Agency

Strengthens broker-level understanding of fiduciary duties, ethical decision-making, agency relationships, and professional responsibility.

🧠 90-Hour Basic Broker

Provides comprehensive preparation in broker-level law, transactions, supervision, liability, and regulatory compliance.

🎓Complete Courses & Pass the State Exam

Broker candidates must pass the school exam in order to complete the course. After all courses are complete, candidates must take and pass the NJ State Real Estate Broker exam.

🆔 Background Check & Fingerprints

All Broker candidates even if already licensed in NJ as a salesperson or instructor must complete a background check.

📝 Affiliate and Apply

Affiliate with a Brokerage and submit broker of record or broker-salesperson application to the NJ Real Estate Commission. 

Broker candidates opening a new firm, need to complete the firm paperwork and Broker of Record applications at the same time.

IMPORTANT BROKER COURSE DETAILS

REFUND POLICY
$150 of the 90 hour basic broker course registration fee is non-refundable.

$75 of the 30 hour broker office management course registration fee is non-refundable.

$75 of the 30 hour broker ethics/agency course registration fee is non-refundable.

After the 1st scheduled individual class or bundled class, all fees are non-refundable. Students are required to confirm if the course fits within their schedule before registering. Students who register for a course, then need to take the course at a later date, have 6 months from initial registration to transfer to a new course schedule with Burgos Realty Academy. A $65 transfer fee will apply. Ask us about or download and review full school policies and NJ state requirements before you register.

COURSE TIME AND EXAMS
Students MUST attend 80% of the 30 hour and 90 hour course class times. After students pass the school final exam, in order to receive a broker real estate license in addition to the other state of New Jersey requirements, students will need to pass and schedule the State of New Jersey Real Estate Broker Licensing Exam.
STUDENT RESPONSIBILITY
Broker candidates must be licensed for 3 years before sitting for the NJ Broker real estate exam. It is the student's responsibility to confirm (before registration) by review of the school policies and state license eligibility requirements if they would be eligible to receive a real estate broker license after they complete the requirements.

It is also the student's responsibility to confirm if this course is required as some broker candidates qualify for waivers through the NJ real estate commission.
